Even in today’s digital world, brides and grooms still like to send out physical wedding invitations but they also find having a website really beneficial. A wedding website allows guests to R.S.V.P, buy gifts from your registry and follow along in your wedding planning journey. I bet creating a website is easier than you think! Thanks to all the great services out there, people without any coding knowledge have the ability to create professional looking websites. Some of these include WordPress, Square Space, Wix.. etc. Sound good? Great, I’m going to show you how to design and create your own wedding website.
This is what you need to get started:
- Computer
- Internet
- A wedding date (and maybe some photos)
Once you have these 3 things your set! You should have some computer/tech savvy.. but you don’t need a lot. To build this site, my platform of choice is wordpress. It’s not a drag and drop platform like some others but it’s still pretty simple to use. You will need to purchase a theme and once we have it loaded up we will customize it with colours, fonts, images etc. If this becomes too tedious or just isn’t your thing – send me an email and hire me to do it for you!
If you’re interested in building a site for yourself, I’ve created a skillshare video tutorial here: http://skl.sh/24MQsqM – When you sign up as a new user, you get 3 months for $0.99. If you have any trouble along the way, contact me with any questions, I’m more than happy to help. I created my own wedding website which is shown in the video at www.kevinandsarah.rocks, feel free to check it out and see if it’s something that would suit your wedding. I’ll be updating it shortly to match my invites, so the images and colors will change.
